The North Parish Washing Green Society is still, “ironing out,” problems for those in need in the historic north parish of Glasgow. more than 200 years after it was established.
A payment of one guinea in 1792 secured membership of the society, whose aim then was to provide. “relief for the poor”. Today membership costs £50 for people interested in continuing to provide financial assistance for those who are resident in the area.
